To any and all readers:

Almost a year ago, I had an idea for a magazine. I’ve read magazines my entire life, from Cosmo to the random teen magazines I’d buy in middle school whenever my mom took me to the grocery store. I’ve always liked to read.

It’s been hard, balancing work, school, life and now a magazine. It’s been incredibly rewarding, allowing young students to write for our magazine. My staff has been incredibly helpful (a special shout-out to Lily Dutro, Assistant Editor-in-Chief). Somehow, she’s always there when I mess up, which is something I do more often than I’ll admit.

If you haven’t noticed, we’ve been taking a break, an unannounced break. Maybe you have noticed, and maybe you have not.

I had an old friend reach out to me, about her sister, who was sexually assaulted, while she was in high school. She had recently graduated. Her high school didn’t take the necessary steps nor did the school district. Her sister asked me to help and I think that the best way  for me to help is by helping her tell her story, because it is hers alone.  Over the next weeks, Such A Tease Mag will be showing you her story and others who wish to speak out about their own. My email is if you’d like to contact me personally. And in the words of Halsey, “…shut up and listen. Black, Asian, poor, wealthy, trans, cis, Muslim, Christian. Listen, listen and then yell at the top of your lungs.”
